THEIR PAIN POINT

AZ Does Taxes needed to elevate their branding to better reflect their pricing, expertise, and evolving client base, and they needed a website to match. The goal: a playful yet purposeful design that simplifies tax complexity, keeps things approachable, and brings their laid-back personality to life. From a clearer digital experience to fun swag and merch, everything needed to feel cohesive, confident, and totally them.

Why this logo?

We wanted the logo to do two things: feel approachable and build trust.

 

The text bubble is a simple visual cue that immediately feels conversational, accessible, and just a little unexpected (especially for a tax firm). It nods to the way they communicate: down-to-earth and easy to follow. The bold, confident type balances that warmth with a sense of competence and trust, drawing from the visual language of timeless financial brands, but with a modern, human twist that resonates with a younger audience.

For the website, we started with a quick facelift, a refreshed version of the original site to elevate the digital presence and align with the new branding. This is Version 1: clean, cohesive, and a much-needed upgrade.
 

Now that the brand feels aligned across the board, Version 2 is in the works, a deeper, more strategic build. This next iteration will be thoughtful, human, and designed to grow with the business. It’ll speak directly to AZ’s people, reflect their values, and quietly flex their expertise.

Winnie, their lovable mascot, is here to make your tax journey a little brighter, and a lot easier. Think of her as the modern-day Clippy (IYKYK), popping in to give you a well-earned brain break while also offering helpful insights.

 

From quick tax tips and definitions to answers for common questions, Winnie keeps things light while adding real value. You’ll find her throughout the website and playbooks, making tax talk a little more fun and a lot less overwhelming.

CLIENT CENTERED VS INTERNALLY CENTERED

Blue for client-facing materials and Green for internal resources. This thoughtful distinction keeps branding cohesive while subtly reinforcing audience focus.
 

Client-forward assets like playbooks, letterhead, and website pages (including the Homepage, Services & Pricing, and Blog) lean on Blue, ensuring a polished, approachable, and trustworthy feel. Meanwhile, internal tools such as employee handbooks, tax calculators, and employee web pages (like About, Community, and the Job Board) embrace Green.
 

Beyond aesthetics, this strategy is also practical—giving employees quick visual cues when scanning for specific resources. Whether they're looking for an external document or an internal tool, the color system makes navigation intuitive and efficient.
