A Visual Language That Invites Interpretation

Users can choose an icon and color to pair with each Collection, allowing their personal naming system to be both emotionally resonant and visually organized. The icon set is intentionally abstract and minimal, designed to evoke feeling rather than prescribe meaning. While abstract, each design is rooted in real intention—not random.

Colors are carefully grounded in and pulled from Open’s existing palette, reinforcing the calm, warm, and spacious tone while helping users visually organize their Collections. These icons and colors are thoughtful extensions of Open’s current visual system: soft, geometric, and sensation-driven, designed to integrate seamlessly into the experience.

OPEN IS

A beautifully-crafted mindfulness platform creating spacious, emotionally resonant digital experiences for breathwork, meditation, and movement. Their intention-driven approach helps users ground, explore, and expand—within themselves and the present moment.

Backed by high-integrity design, sound, and breathwork leaders
Their mission: To support personal transformation through stillness, movement, and sound.

THEIR PAIN POINT

While Open delivers a uniquely immersive and emotional experience, long-time users may desire more ways to organize, reflect, and return to specific practices over time. Favorites alone can’t hold the full richness of intention.

This feature pitch imagines a new layer of personalization within the app:
Collections (emotion-based custom categories) and Reflections (notes—written or voice). These tools allow users to name their own energetic states, notice patterns in their practice, and come back to the sessions that support them, intentionally.

Introducing personal pathways

Organize with intention, return with ease.

Open is already a beautifully composed, intuitive, and grounded experience, a space where every interaction feels intentional. This concept builds on that foundation, offering subtle new ways for users to organize, reflect, and return. With Collections, users can create personal categories that reflect how practices feel in their body or meet them in specific moments. With Reflections, they can document their experience (either in words or voice) as a way to stay present and deepen their relationship to the practice over time.

Instead of a single Favorites list, users can now save practices in a way that feels natural to them (grouped by energy, intention, or even mood) and easily return to what they love. It’s about creating space to notice patterns and form rituals more easily by intentionally organizing and documenting, so returning to certain experiences and intentions feels natural and easy.

These additions are designed to feel like part of the space, not an add-on—intentional, seamless, fluid, and soft around the edges.

Then users can jot down a note or voice a thought, capturing what shifted, what stayed, or what they want to remember.

A new bookmark icon lets users queue up what’s calling next, right from any playlist, so these won’t get lost amongst favorited practices.
